The Butler

Posted by Sandra Reed on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, In : Words of Wisdom
I saw the film The Butler.  My emotions got the best of me after taking the historical roller-coaster ride through injustice, cruelty, deception, and denial.    Shadows of my past crept into my soul and exposed the demon again – racism.  For so long I kept that demon locked inside, secured in a box, daring it to escape; yet viewing The Butler, the  memories became so powerful all over again, my soul quailed and the tears flowed.  At one time, I had to hold my breath to avoid wailing.  Raci...

The Jungle Book

Posted by Sandra Reed on Monday, July 22, 2013, In : Words of Wisdom

On Sunday, I saw the musical production The Jungle Book.  This was an outstanding stage production from the actors, orchestra to the music (sounds of Dixieland and India) and set, lighting, and costume design.  This show had elements of The Lion King and The Wiz. LIGHT UP THE WORLD

Posted by Sandra Reed on Monday, November 28, 2011,

Yesterday, I attended Maggie Daley's wake.  I stood in the cold and rain for about 50 minutes with hundreds of others, but it gave me time to reflect on her life and how she lit up the world with her smile and helping others.

Then today I read Phillipians 2 which stated, "Are your hearts tender and sympathetic?  Then make me truly happy by agreeing  whole-heartedly with each other, loving one another and working together with one heart and purpose.  Don't be selfish, don't live to make good...
